PulseTrek
When a consumer power station is too small and a generator is too loud.
Compare
| Consumer power station | GridGO | Mini PulseTrek | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Energy | About 1 to 5 kWh | Up to 8 kWh | 15 kWh |
| Output | Typically 1.8 to 3.6 kW | 3.6 kW | 2,400 W, 5,500 W peak |
| Enclosure | Plastic case | Cabinet | NEMA 3R steel |
| Transfer switch | Rarely | Via electrician | 50 A built in |
| Generator input | Some models | Grid and solar | NEMA 5-30 |
For a weekend of phone charging and a small fridge, a consumer unit is fine. For a cabin, an RV park, a home's essential circuits or a vendor's day of trading, the extra energy of GridGO or the Mini PulseTrek is what makes it last.
At a cabin, 15 kWh runs a fridge, lights, Wi-Fi, a TV and device charging for roughly a full day and night, and longer with solar. For an RV park office or a small shop, it covers lighting, point of sale and a coffee machine through a trading day.
Consumer power stations can be chained with extra batteries, but at that point cost and cabling often approach a purpose-built unit with a proper enclosure and transfer switch.
For homes, the right answer is often GridGO for essential circuits, wired by an electrician, rather than extension leads from a portable unit.
Questions answered
Consumer units top out around 5 kWh per unit; commercial units like the Mini PulseTrek hold 15 kWh.
Essential circuits, yes; whole-house loads including central AC need a larger system.
If you need more than an evening's essentials, yes; runtime scales with kWh, and extension-lead setups get awkward fast.
